THIS EPISODE IS A WHOPPA
Hey guys! Brian was abroad this week, so no video stream, but good news! You still get your regularly-scheduled audio podcast. How delightfully old school!
This week saw a lot of stuff happening in lots of strangely similar topics, so we've got rambling discussions all over the place. Early thoughts on Destiny 2 (CONFIRMED FOR PC, BY THE WAY), a ridiculously long chat on Call of Duty and wargames, the legitimacy and legality of emulation, Serious Sonic™, and Warframe's new music making music maker. Also, what's old is new again with some remakes and remasters, and the Return of the Demos? Maybe? It's like a grab bag o' free content right now, honestly.
Also, the Dragon Age roleplaying stream that Tom mentioned can be found right here on the Twitch dot com. It's really, really wonderful.
It's our Mass Effect: Andromeda review! What more do you need to know?
We've started livestreaming our recording every week!
Join us every week at twitch.tv/addictedtoloot and be a part of the podcast!
You can catch the video of this episode's stream right here:
This week, we tried something different, and did a live stream of our podcast recording! It turned out to be really great, and we're so thankful for those of you that tuned in and hung out and chatted with us during the recording. You are very good looking people and we love your faces a lot. You can catch the archive of that stream right here. Relive the magic! It's like you were there! Unless you were! Then it's like deja vu! Or deja vu!
So! We're probably going to be livestreaming our recordings every week going forward, we hope, and we'd love to have you guys come and hang with us. We'll be promoting it ahead of time on our website and various social medias to let you know when we're planning on recording. Let's all hang out and talk about videogames and forget the world for a while, yeah? We'll continue to, of course, offer the traditional audio-only version of the cast, which is edited down a bit to sound a bit more coherent (as coherent as we can possibly get, anyway, so, y'know.)
Otherwise, down to business! This week, we talk the Shadow of War reveal, No Man's Sky's new photo mode, year two of The Division, Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy (and Telltale games in general), Tale of Ronin, and Halo Wars 2 (and Halo in general) (and emotional videogames) (so inevitably, mass effect) (typical)
Wow. What a time. The Nintendo Switch is out, which means a new Legend of Zelda is out, and also Horizon Zero Dawn is out, and people like these things Very Much. So let's talk about literally everything else.
This week: Orisa the overwatcher, Sleeping Dogs: The Movie, Dawn of War III more like Yawn of War amiright, and a whole bunch of late 90s-early 00s nostalgia with Kingsway and Emily is Away.
Also: Brian's neon-soaked shootytimes in Pixel Privateers, Tom's Riding In Cars With Shootyboys in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and a literal hour-long two-part review of Night in the Woods so hopefully Tom can shut up about this game already oh my elder gods
(But in all seriousness, we've got you covered. There's a spoiler-free review of Night in the Woods first, followed by a well-marked spoiler-filled one, for your convenience.)
(also does anyone have a throat lozenge or twelve -- Tom)
Your hosts brave sickness and exhaustion this week to bring you a shorter-than-usual podcast, but still packed with plenty of Content™. A sequel to Shadow of Mordor was announced and it wasn't titled Shadow of More-dor so really what's the pointALSO more Overwatch news, because this is an Addicted to Loot podcast.
The big highlight this week, tho, is Brian and Tom's time with the Ghost Recon: Wildlands Open Beta this past weekend. Have our opinions changed since the closed beta? You're gonna have to listen to find out. YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.
